After a year of hard work and planning, Northern Employment Solutions (NES) is opening its doors in September 2006. Bernie Plouffe and Andre Lapierre, NES’s founders, opted to start the company in response to a growing need in Sudbury for a staffing company boasting outstanding all-round service. Located at 875 Notre Dame, this office is equipped to interview and assess potential employees for companies in Sudbury and the surrounding area.
“Since we’re a new company, we want people in Sudbury to be able to put a face to the NES name, and this is a great opportunity to do so,” says Lapierre. “Bernie and I grew up here. We know the community, we know the good and the bad, and we know all the challenges and opportunities involved in doing business and finding work here. NES’s services will make life easier for people looking for jobs, and for companies needing employees.”
Between them, Plouffe and Lapierre possess 16 years experience in the staffing industry. Time spent working for large, international employment agencies provided them the inspiration they needed to start NES – and the first-hand knowledge that flexibility is key.
“When companies hire employment agencies, they’re often told that this is how things work, end of discussion. There are no options offered, no flexibility,” Plouffe notes. “We want to change that. All our services, whether it’s providing temporary or permanent associates, sub-contracting, or almost any human resources need will be customized to each client’s specific requirements.”
NES is currently making arrangements to service clients in almost every industry, including securing national contracts. Their main focus is geared towards servicing clients who are looking for executive, sales, and management positions. But, in response demand, they are also servicing clients seeking administrative, call centre, general labour and skilled trades employees.
